Open Call For Scores:
Dear Composers,
I would like announce a call for scores for a New Music Vocal Chamber Ensemble. This ensemble will feature a main group of 16 singers. We are also seeking music for any ensemble size below these requirements (i.e. SSSAAA, TTBB, SATB etc.) We will be having performances beginning mid April and would like to remain active throughout next year.
Many of you may be relatively inexperienced with writing for vocalists or chamber ensembles involving voice. NEC’s
interim Head of Choral Activities, Erica Washburn, held a seminar on choral chamber music on
Monday December 13th at 11am in the Keller room. We've posted in PDF the information from that seminar.
Please send your full PDF scores along with electronic realization/midi/recording (no matter how bad this can be a HUGE help) to:
Piano reductions of any instrumental accompaniment as well as a separate reduction of just the voices would also play into likelihood for success.
We are accepting works from any current NEC grad/undergrad student (not limited to composition majors)
Multi-movement works are great but please note whether you would allow for individual movements to be performed out of context.
Composers are welcome to submit as many compositions as they like.
We need your music to fill out our repertoire!
We are striving to expand the ranges of music produced, performed, and experienced at the New England Conservatory and Boston area. We are a flexible new music ensemble that features a chorus of 16 singers producing conductor-less concerts of music exclusively written by NEC students.
